Healing Frequency Analysis & Certification of Your own Singing Bowl

Do you have a Tibetan singing bowl just sitting on a shelf somewhere in your home? Maybe you picked it up at that cool little shop on a vacation trip, or maybe it was a gift. Perhaps there is something about that bowl that draws you to it but you just can't figure out what it is.

Recently we have received a lot of requests from people who have just heard of Planetary Healing Vibrations and are curious about what might be found in their own bowls. Or maybe you bought a hand hammered singing bowl (from someone else) that is supposed to be for the heart chakra - you like the bowl but it fills you with dread when you play it near your chest - so it sits on a shelf.

The first thing most people do is grab a chromatic tuner, such as a guitar tuner, and try to measure their bowls. They soon find that the guitar tuner flickers and is skitterish, flipping between notes - it is difficult to get a stable reading.

There is a reason for that. Hand hammered Tibetan singing bowls are overtone instruments, they produce more than one frequency at the same time - at the very least 3-4, but usually more than that. A simple chromatic tuner is unable to sort out the little symphony that a hand hammered Tibetan bowl produces.

Here at Heaven of Sound we use a sophisticated scientific acoustic measuring method to certify our Tibetan bowls that can handle the full range of audio/sound frequencies a singing bowl produces. We use an extended periodic table of Planetary Healing Frequencies (originally based on the findings of Hans Cousto) to identify the healing frequencies of every singing bowl (or gong, bell, etc.) we sell and the possible healing effects it can provide.  We travel to India to hand select each of our singing bowls, bells and gongs - we measure them there and then again after their long journey to the US. Because of our careful measurements, we are able to offer Certified Planetary singing bowls. You know what to expect from our certified singing bowls and what the probable effects will be when you play them.

Send us your own singing bowls. We will analyze and certify them for you! You will then know what you have, how to use it, where to and where NOT to place it and what healing effects you can achieve.

What you get:

• You will receive a Certificate unique to your bowl - it identifies the type of bowl, the weight, and frequencies of the fundamental(s) and overtone(s) the bowl produces. It names the Planetary or Chakra tone(s) your bowl contains, and if any, tells you the expected effects for each, the best uses for the bowl and the areas of the body to place it on or near.
• You will receive a label, or more, one for each planetary frequency, to place in your bowl. This is great if you have more than one bowl, you always can find the bowl you want and the label gives basic information on the uses of the bowl. All of our certified therapy singing bowls are labeled this way.

What it costs:

• The basic price is $70.00 per bowl to be analyzed. Volume discounts can be offered when multiple bowls sent to be analyzed at the same time (reduced set up time):  $55/bowl for 2-5 singing bowls, $40/bowl for 6-9 and $35/bowl for 10 and more singing bowls.
• The customer is responsible for shipping their bowls to us and the cost of shipping them back when analysis is complete. (We will invoice this and ship upon payment)
• Please pack your bowls safely. Heaven of Sound cannot be responsible for damage to bowls shipped to us. We recommend that you insure your shipment. Your bowls will be packed carefully and the return shipment to you will be insured.

• We do not analyze Crystal bowls! (One reason is their fragility and possible loss during transport)
• While all hand hammered singing bowls produce fundamental tones and overtones, we cannot guarantee that your bowl(s) will contain planetary healing tones. Some bowls are just pleasant musical instruments.
• We use the "gentle strike" technique to analyze all bowls. This brings out the full spectrum of frequencies that a bowl can produce. If you use the rubbing technique you will only hear a small part of the sound your singing bowl can make.
• Hand hammered singing bowls are not equally dense throughout, or even in thickness or size. Most bowls have "sweet spots" where the bowl is in harmony with itself and sounds best. We test the bowl in 3 or 4 places around the rim so that we capture all of the sound.
• The irregular density and uneven alloy of metals makes these singing bowls produce their unique sound. Mass produced singing bowls like cast or machine made metal singing bowls as well as Crystal bowls are more uniform and bell like in tone, but lack the complexity of  Tibetan singing bowls hand made by a group of beaters.
• Most hand hammered singing bowls are extremely stable, producing the same frequencies whether struck gently or more firmly, the only change being in volume. Extreme temperatures can affect the sound. Over-striking, hitting the bowl too hard, creates a harsh sound, does not allow the formation of overtones, and can damage your singing bowl. Very thin walled bowls are very sensitive and must be played gently with a soft mallet to avoid over-striking.
• The density of the striker affects the sound. Using a proper type of felt mallet and hardness appropriate to your bowl will ensure the best possible sound production. For very small bowls we use leather sticks or felt covered sticks, for most of our other bowls we use felt headed mallets in hard, medium or soft densities. Giant bowls need a big soft beater while the very largest bowls require a very heavy, very soft striker to allow the bowl to swing to the lowest frequencies, (we build these upon request.)
