We are proud to introduce the Gongs of India. The skilled metalworkers of India have been crafting healing instruments since the days of antiquity. Now they have turned their expertise to the art of gong making. Hand hammered, then marvelously etched by Nepalese craftsmen with a graceful combination of old and new motifs, these gongs will make an exciting addition to your home or business. An ancient double or crossed dorje is etched on the center boss of this beutiful decorated nipple gong surrounded by the Ashtamangla or set of 8 auspicious (lucky) symbols.
It is almost impossible to get genuine Burma nipple gongs these days, but India has stepped up to fill the vacancy with these marvelous smaller size nipple gongs. They are sweet and resonant, and while not as massive and booming as their ancient cousins, they are a fraction of the price. The unique India touch of beautiful etching makes these gongs true works of art. Compared to the Indian cymbal gongs, the nipple gongs not only have the prominent center boss, but their outer edge is bent to a stabilizing rim versus being flat. Consequently their sound is even more stable and as good as they look. Nipple gongs will produce the same tone or frequency no matter where you hit them, how often, or how hard (within reason, all gongs will make unpleasant sounds if struck to hard or with an improper mallet). This makes nipple gongs the best suited gongs for sound healing work, as we can precisely analyze and identify the healing frequencies and the effects they are likely to have.Diameter: 15-1/2 inch (39 cm), Height: 2.5 inch (6.5 cm); Weight: 2891 g (6.4 lbs); #G064
