  • We are proud to introduce the Gongs of India. The skilled metalworkers of India have been making healing instruments since the days of antiquity. Now they have turned their expertise to the art of gong making. Hand hammered, then marvelously etched by Nepalese craftsmen with a a graceful combination of old and new motifs, these gongs will make an exciting addition to your home or business.

The wind gongs, with their slightly rounded edges, arched top, and no center boss are orchestral type gongs. The pitch, or frequency, they produce will vary with how you play them. You can vary the location, force and rhythm of your strikes to produce an incredible range of sounds - from a gentle shimmer to roaring thunder. These gently arched wind gongs are not grouped with Planetary gongs as they produce a variable pitch.

    Diameter: 16-1/2 inch (42 cm), Height: 1 inch (2.5 cm); Weight: 2397g (5.3 lbs); #GIFXG092

*Measurements approximate, these are hand made instruments and may be irregular in shape

  • This beautiful etched wind gong features Buddha eyes. You will find these eyes painted on the four sides of stupas (Buddhist shrines) all across Nepal. They symbolize the all seeing nature of a Buddha. This gong is a beautiful example of the artistry of the Nepalese master etchers who travel to India to do this skilled work.
